Data sources and limits
- Altitude ceilings: FAA UAS Facility Map public feature service (
FAA_UAS_FacilityMap_Data, point-in-polygon query per waypoint). Returns the LAANC grid ceiling and associated airports and airspace classes. A waypoint outside any grid cell returns no ceiling, which this page reports as "no UASFM cell", not as "unrestricted". - Weather: Open-Meteo hourly wind speed and direction at 10 m, 80 m, 120 m and 180 m, 10 m gusts, visibility, precipitation and cloud cover for the departure hour at each waypoint. No API key; free tier is non-commercial. "Shear" here is the vector difference between the 10 m and 120 m model winds, not an observation.
- TFRs: not checked in v0. No keyless, official, current machine-readable TFR source was confirmed. The response carries
tfr: {status: "unchecked"}. Wiring the FAA NOTAM API requires registered credentials held in a Worker. - This is not an authorization. LAANC approval, Part 107 rules and controlled-airspace authorization are outside this tool.
